Tyson Bomberger performs his role as Bert

Congratulations to senior Tyson Bomberger for his Apollo Award nomination for Best Leading Actor in a Musical for his portrayal as Bert in MAHS's production of Mary Poppins. Earlier this year Tyson received an Apollo Award nomination for Outstanding Lead Actor in a Play for his role as Jack in MAHS's production of The Importance of Being Earnest.

Modeled after The Tony Awards for Broadway productions, the awards recognize outstanding achievement by local high school students in their musical and play productions.

Winners will be announced at a ceremony on May 18 at the Giant Center. As part of the event Tyson will perform a monologue from his role as Jack in The Importance of Being Earnest and perform a musical number as Bert.

MASD is grateful to MAHS music teachers and performing arts co-directors Miss Kristen Zlogar and Mr. Matthew Landrum for their hard work and dedication to our students and for creating a top-notch performing arts program.
