Gifted is defined as students who possess above average intellectual and creative ability. Students identified as gifted may be in need of specially designed instruction. If a student meets criteria to be considered gifted and would benefit from acceleration and/or enrichment, a Gifted Individualized Educational Plan (GIEP) is developed which addresses how the student's individualized needs will be met. Middletown Area School District provides enhanced instruction within the classroom setting as well as co-curricular projects and events to challenge gifted students.
