Applications are being accepted for a 12-month position available effective July 1, 2021. This position is responsible for the operation, direction, supervision and leadership over the District's athletic program. Duties include but are not limited to developing, implementing and improving the District's athletic programs; recruiting, interviewing and recommending candidates for coaching positions in consultation with appropriate District administrators; supervising, observing, and evaluating coaches; developing and coordinating all schedules and events for middle school and high school sports; monitoring students’ academic eligibility; and developing and presenting an annual budget to ensure adequate funding for the interscholastic athletic program. Performance of duties must adhere to all legal requirements – state, federal and District as well as PIAA policies, regulations and procedures.
Applicants must possess a sports management or similar degree and accreditation from a national professional organization as an athletic director is preferred. Previous athletic director experience in a Pennsylvania public school district is preferred. Applicants must have prior PIAA coaching experience; proactive problem-solving skills; knowledge of budgeting and scheduling; a strong ability to recruit coaches and promote and market the District’s athletic department in order to further the success of our programs; and the ability to effectively communicate with students, coaches, and parents as well as members of the administration and Board of School Directors.
