Cameron Wegert, Class of '23, claimed the PIAA District 3 Boys Bowling Title on Saturday, February 25th at Clearview Lanes, Mount Joy, PA. The Middletown Blue Raider senior rolled a 300 game the last of his 5 games of qualifying to place 3rd and advance to the quarterfinals of the single game elimination bracket finals . In the quarterfinals, he defeated Bryce Kline of Central York 248 – 245. Cameron then defeated Derek Keller of Hempfield 223 – 207 in the semifinals, and in the championship match, he defeated the # 1 seed Zach Wentzel of Elizabethtown 246 – 200 to win the gold medal. Wegert's success also earned him a shout-out from WGAL TV8 as their High School Athlete of the Week.
Middletown junior Roman Cipolla finished 36th in boys division and Blue Raider senior Sarah Beaudet finished 17th in the girls division.
