Fink Elementary Celebrates Conclusion of One Book, One School
The beloved classic Charlotte’s Web was the selection for Fink Elementary’s One Book, One School initiative and students, staff, parents, and even a pig marked the end of the program with a carnival-like celebration including book-themed crafts.
One Book, One School takes place in schools and communities across the country and the goal of the program is to reinforce reading instruction and literacy skills, increase parental involvement, bridge the home-school connection, and build a true community of readers.
Fink students collaboratively read the book and took time to review the passages and discuss themes of the book, including friendship, perseverance and change. The One Book, One School initiative also featured some guest Reading Raiders, including principals, teachers, and MASD Superintendent, Dr. Chelton Hunter.
