Congratulations to the Middletown Area High School Performing Arts Department for winning the Apollo Award for Outstanding Dance Number in a Musical for the performance of “Anything Goes” from the spring musical. Show choreographer, senior Rachel Gatesman, accepted the award at a ceremony held May 17 at the Hershey Theatre. Gatesman, pictured below, also received Honorable Mention for a Lead Actress in a Musical for her role as Reno Sweeney in Anything Goes, and the school received Honorable Mention for Best Overall Musical in the small school category.
Modeled after The Tony Awards for Broadway productions, the Apollo Awards recognize outstanding achievement by local high school students in their musical and play productions.
