After several years on the sidelines, Justin Smith is getting his chance to get “in the game,” as the new Assistant Athletic Director. From his years in high school playing baseball to coaching baseball and basketball while in college at West Chester University, and most recently as the Co-Head Coach of the Junior High Cross Country team this season and 7th Grade Basketball Coach and Junior High Track and Field Coach for the past two seasons, Justin is looking forward to fusing his love of all types of athletics with the high academic standards and relationships formed in the classroom.

His fourteen years teaching in the Middletown Area School District at the third, fifth, and now sixth grade levels as well as his perspective having coached athletics at various levels gives him a unique perspective. “What every educator loves is having the opportunity to see their students succeed within as well as outside of the classroom. Even more rewarding is seeing those same students a few years later and noticing how that time spent with you in the classroom, on the field, on the court has made them better each and every day; and now it’s paying off.” Director of Athletics, Mr. Reed stated, “You would be hard pressed to find someone more dedicated to Middletown Area School District than Justin.” Justin looks forward to seeing our Blue Raiders getting better every day, every way; one day at a time.
