2020 State Band Winners

Three MAHS seniors from the Class of 2020 claimed the coveted spots of 1st chair at two Pennsylvania Music Educator's Association (PMEA) competitions earning them the title of top student in the state on their instrument. Daniel Brenner and Megan Burghdorf advanced to the State Concert Band competition and claimed the 1st chairs in clarinet and trumpet respectively. Connor Leiby auditioned his way into the alto saxophone 1st chair in the State Jazz Band competition. Unfortunately, the students were unable to participate with their peers from around the state because the PMEA festivals were cancelled due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Earning 1st chair status on the state level is a tremendous achievement. We are so proud of each of these Raiders who have worked diligently to claim their rightful seats and be named top musicians in the state of Pennsylvania for their specific instrument. Congratulations to you all!
