Family Math Kabob Night

Fink and Reid Elementary students, families, and staff had a tasty time together learning about sequence and order at Math Kabob Night.

As part of the hands-on learning event, families visited four different kabob stations - main dish, vegetable, fruit, and dessert - and were tasked to create patterns on the kabob skewers and document and describe their unique creations. The activities focused on the important math skills of recognizing and creating patterns, as well as understanding and explaining fractions.

Kunkel Elementary’s Math Kabob Night will be held on March 25.

Improving math aptitude and promoting a positive outlook and attitude toward the subject is a top priority of MASD. We want students to master basic math principles and develop them into confident and enthusiastic math students while experiencing fun, intrigue, and excitement as they explore the world of math.

Math Kabob Night was organized by MASD Math Coach Mrs. Lori Miller, who, in her role, works alongside classroom teachers to provide an increased focus on math instruction and improve practices in math classes for students in grades K-8.
