Reid Elementary students got a special start to their Thanksgiving break - a visit from Middletown Area High School students! The high school students are part of Ms. Ashley Newcomb’s children's literature elective class and read Thanksgiving-themed stories to the younger students. MAHS juniors Meghan O'Brien and Kaylee Miller, along with freshman Norah Wooddell (pictured below) read Turkey Trouble to first grade students. MAHS junior Isa Markert (pictured below), who has expressed interest in a career in education, read There Was an Old Lady Who Swallowed a Turkey.
The readers walked to Reid from the high school. MASD is fortunate to have a number of buildings in close proximity and looks forward to completion of the Middletown Area Primary School (MAPS) when all buildings are on the same campus, allowing for even more educational partnerships between elementary and secondary students.
