Dear Middletown Parents/Guardians:
I wanted to provide everyone with information regarding where the District is with the masking Order and how it effects our School District. The PA Supreme Court upheld the mask decision of the Commonwealth Court on Friday, which means requiring masks in schools through Acting Secretary Beam‘s Order was unlawful. Therefore, the District will be reverting back to its Health and Safety Plan that states masks are “recommended, but not required“ starting tomorrow, Monday, December 13. Students and staff will still be required to wear masks on school buses as that was a federal mandate and not part of the Beam mask Order.
In addition, any outside visitors to the District during school hours will be required to wear a face covering while inside District facilities due to the difficulties of contact tracing non-District personnel.
