Middletown Area School District officials, along with state, local, and community leaders, celebrated the opening of Middletown Area Primary School (MAPS) with a ceremonial ribbon-cutting.
Dr. Chelton Hunter, MASD Superintendent of Schools, said the opening of MAPS is more than just the opening of a new building - it represents an investment in our children, community, and the future of Middletown, and the opportunity for every child who enters to be successful. He added that the District wanted to create an educational environment specifically designed for our youngest learners - a place where those students could learn, grow, explore, and build the foundational skills needed to carry them through their educational journey.
As part of the ribbon-cutting ceremony, Dr. Hunter thanked school board members, District administrators, as well as state and local officials, including State Representative Tom Mehaffie, for their vision, support, and leadership in making MAPS a reality. Dr. Hunter also extended a big Blue Raider thank you to the community, saying MAPS belongs to the families and residents of Middletown, and all the students who will walk through the doors for years to come.
