Alumni Spotlight - Morgan Baumbach

Morgan BaumbachAs a Blue Raider, Morgan Baumbach attended Reid Elementary, then MAMS, and then MAHS where she was a member of the final class to graduate from the old high school in 2016. She spent her next four years at Penn State Harrisburg earning her teaching degree. Then Morgan unexpectedly started the pattern all over again; this time, as a teacher!

When school resumed in 2020, Reid Elementary needed a substitute for the whole month of September for a teacher on leave. So Morgan stepped into the role of fourth grade teacher at her former elementary school. When her final day of subbing at Reid arrived and she was sadly saying goodbye to her students, she received a surprise call offering her another substitute position in MASD. This time at her former Middle School!

Morgan BaumbachMiss Baumbach has been teaching 6th grade math during October and November. MAMS principal, Mr. Chris Sattele, was excited to add her to the MAMS team. “During her first long term substituting position at Reid, her colleagues and principal raved about her performance. We are so fortunate to have her here at MAMS.” Miss Baumbach’s former Middle School teachers are now her colleagues. “It’s so strange to be told to call them by their first names. I feel so disrespectful.” Mr. Sattele added, “Since she is a MASD graduate, I knew Morgan was prepared to lead our students the Middletown way: treating others with respect, having high standards and modeling them, and passion for growth.”

Miss Baumbach has thoroughly enjoyed her return to Middle School and says she will greatly miss her 6th graders. “I’ve learned so much by having experiences at multiple grade levels.” Sadly, her final day of substituting in Middletown is approaching. Or is it?
