Middletown Area High School seniors recently presented their Career Action Plans (CAP) to panels of District administrators, faculty, and community business partners, including professionals from the health and sciences, law enforcement, insurance, and service industries.
The CAP interviews are a graduation requirement and task students with presenting post-secondary plans.
Presentations included an introduction to panel members, a description of their primary/secondary career pathway throughout high school, intended career path, short and long term plans, and influences in choosing their designated career or direction. Pictured below is Jaina Zehring who said she has always been interested in the healthcare field and a desire to help people. Her career goal is to become an ultrasound technician. She said she knows the schooling will be difficult, but is up for the challenge.
Panel members engaged with the presenters and provided encouragement, feedback, and advice regarding career choices and future plans.
The CAP interviews are an initiative through the
school’s career pathways and career readiness program and a way to equip students with vital public speaking skills. Pictured above is Bradyn Pristello who shared his plans to attend Thaddeus Stevens College of Technology.
Thank you to the high school counseling department for organizing the event and MAHS staff for helping prepare students for the interviews. A special thank you to our community partners for investing their time and knowledge in our students.
