Each month our athletic department selects two athletes who exemplify Raider PRIDE throughout their season. MASD believes athletics is an extension of the total educational development process and is pleased to recognize accomplishments of our students in and out the classroom.

February
Girls Basketball Team

Whether it be high school or college basketball, the dream of every team is to still be playing in March in championship tournament play. That dream is a reality for the girls basketball team who, for the first time in school history, are in the second round of District III AAAAA state basketball playoffs. The team’s storied regular season ended being crowned Mid Penn Colonial Division Champions and games in both the Mid Penn Conference and District III AAAAA finals.
Throughout the entire season the Lady Raiders demonstrated Raider PRIDE and that didn’t go unnoticed by Mid Penn Conference officials - the team was awarded the Mid Penn Conference Sportsmanship Award. Numerous players also received honors from the Mid Penn Conference, including Juniors Jayla Koser and Emma Cleland, named Colonial First Team All-Division, Destiny Gassert named Colonial Second Team All-Division, and Jour’nee Stover, named Colonial Third Team All-Division. Jayla, who hit the 1000 career point mark this season, was named Colonial Conference Player of the Year.

Joesph Gassert

Senior heavyweight wrestler Joseph Gassert is the Section Two District III AAA Champion and took third place in the District III AAA Wrestling Championship. The titles qualified him to compete in state wrestling playoffs. Joseph was also named Mid Penn Conference Capital Second Team All-Division.

Jayla Koser

Junior Jayla Koser hit a career milestone in January, netting her 1000th career point. She leads the team in scoring as the Lady Raiders enter postseason play.
Joesph Gassert

Senior heavyweight wrestler Joseph Gassert has been a dominating force this season, with a record of 19-3. He placed first in his weight class at the Section 2 championships, (the first MASD Section 2 champion in at least four years) and advances to the District III AAA Wrestling Championships. MAHS wrestling coach Sabastain Hazboun said Joesph is a true team leader.
December
Emma Cleland

Junior Emma Cleland is a pivotal part of the Lady Raiders basketball team's success. She has been a three-year varsity starter and captain and has been the team's floor general. She leads the team in assists, and was named to the 2024 tip-off tournament all-star team. Coach LaSonda Dixon said Emma’s leadership skills continue to grow and her selflessness on the court continues to not only lead to her own success, but also her teammates. Coach Dixon added every year they continue to see Emma grow as a teammate, player, leader, and friend, and she has a very bright future ahead of her and they are very proud of her!
Off the court Emma excels in the classroom taking AP courses, receiving honors, and being part of the National Honor Society and Keystone Club.
Geno Corradi

When asked about senior wrestler Geno Corradi, MAHS wrestling coach Sabastain Hazboun said he is a hard worker, leads by example and has ‘tremendous motor.’ Corradi was 5-0 at the Snack Town Duals and placed first at the Newport tournament.
November
Girls Volleyball Team

The Lady Raiders’ regular season ended with a Mid Penn Capital Division Championship and postseason appearances in the District 3 finals and first round of the state playoffs. The team finished the 2024 season with an impressive 18-2 record.
Coach Lisa Huber was named the Capital Division Coach of the Year and a number of players hit career milestones and received postseason honors. Senior Addison Huber got her 500th kill and was named Capital Division Player of the Year. Huber also signed her letter of intent to play volleyball at Loyola University Maryland.
Junior Kenadee Hileman obtained her 1000th assist and along with Huber, and junior Lena Jones, was named to the First Team All District 3 and First Team Capital Division All Stars. Hileman, Huber and Jones were also named to the Pennsylvania Volleyball Coaches All-State Team. This is the first time Middletown ever had the three players named to the all-state team.
Senior Ellie LeKites was named to the Third Team All District 3 and Second Team Capital Division All Stars. Senior Cassidy Pomraning and junior Katelyn Wagner were named to the Third Team Capital Division All Stars.
October
Emma Dupes

Senior field hockey goalie Emma Dupes ended her high school career with her 1000th career save. Coach Olivia Bell said Emma was the backbone of the team throughout her four years of play.
Landon Keyser

Senior Landon Keyser had double duty this fall. He was a dominating force on the varsity soccer team, and Friday nights, was the kicker for the football team.
September
Kenadee Hileman
In late September junior volleyball player Kenadee Hileman achieved her 1,000th career assist. The team continues their Mid-Penn Conference Capital Division dominance with an undefeated season and eyes set on another run at District and state playoffs.
Gavin Paul

Sophomore Gavin Paul (number 22) is a two-way player for the Blue Raiders and in September, rushed for more than 500 yards. The football team sits at 3-4, with their season concluding at home on October 25.
