The sophomore class is leading the way in this year’s MAHS Youth and Government Club. At the 2022 Elections Convention, Rashid Ibrahim was chosen as a Gold Committee Chair and Madison Yohe was elected as a Blue Committee Chair. On the press side, Aaliyah Allensworth was selected as a Press Manager for written reporting. All three sophomores chose personal contact with delegates over marketing gimmicks as their campaign strategy which obviously yielded great results.
Ibrahim and Yohe attended a special training for Committee Chairs to prepare them for Model Government which will be held in April. Allensworth is networking with other press members and practicing her writing skills to be ready to work quickly under pressure. In the meantime, all club members are preparing bills, practicing their debate skills and speeches, planning fundraisers, and participating in bonding activities. We look forward to hearing more about our student leaders' successes at Model Government.
