Superintendent's 2021-22 Assessment

According to Section 1073.1 of the Pennsylvania School Code, the Board of School Directors shall conduct a formal written performance assessment of the District Superintendent annually based on the mutually agreed upon objective performance standards. The standards shall be posted on the school district's publicly accessible Internet website. Upon completion of the annual performance assessment, the Board of School Directors shall post on the school district's publicly accessible Internet website the date of the assessment and whether or not the district superintendent has met the agreed upon objective performance standards.

The Middletown Area School District Board of School Directors conducted the annual performance assessment of Dr. Chelton Hunter, Superintendent of Schools, in June 2022. The assessment was presented to Dr. Hunter on June 30, 2022. The School Board determined that Dr. Hunter has met all of the Objective Performance Standards for the 2021-2022 school year:

  1. The superintendent organizes the collaborative development and implementation of District goals based on analysis of data from a variety of sources in order to improve overall student achievement and growth.
  2. The superintendent communicates a clear vision of academic excellence and continuous instructional improvement consistent with the goals of the school district.
  3. The superintendent implements sound personnel procedures in recruiting, employing and retaining the best-qualified and most competent teachers, administrators and other personnel.
  4. The superintendent will be in charge of leading the administrative efforts in creating and maintaining the District’s Health and Safety plan in order to mitigate the spread of COVID-19 for the 2021-22 school year.
