It is never to early for students to start learning about entrepreneurship, as it can lead to great things like facebook or Alex’s Lemonade Stand. Reid Elementary students got a chance on Tuesday to learn about entrepreneurship from MAHS students enrolled in Denise Wade’s 21st Century Skill/Entrepreneurship course.
The Entrepreneurship students kicked off the day with a presentation centered around the small business they formed as part of the class this year. Their business, named Fresh Young Innovators (FYI), utilized various techniques to sell Middletown Blue Raider Lanyards. The FYI students described the skills and process required to run their small business and even challenged the Reid students to put their new knowledge to the test via an activity they designed. FYI provided the students with various items and tasked them to create a product that they could potential sell.
The day was a great success as the both the Reid and High School students had a great time teaching and learning about entrepreneurship.
The events organizer, Anna Smith, School Counselor, plans to organize more activities like this to help our students learn more about the Career and Word standards
