R.A.I.D.E.R.S. Program

The R.A.I.D.E.R.S. program is designed to connect academics and character education so that students evolve throughout their middle school careers as a well-rounded and productive citizen. Every MAMS staff member promotes the social, emotional, and ethical traits that lead to the development of a student’s character. The R.A.I.D.E.R.S. program promote student character education through experiential learning, thus preparing students to become lifelong learners and active, productive members of the community and society in which they reside. The core character traits that guide the R.A.I.D.E.R.S. program are defined below.

“R” – RESPECT – October

  • Showing high regard for an authority, other people, and self.
  • Treat other people the way you want to be treated.
  • Be courteous and polite.
  • Listen to what other people have to say.
  • Don’t insult people, or make fun of them, or call them names.
  • Don’t bully or pick on others.
  • Don’t judge people.

“A” – ATTITUDE – November

  • To believe in yourself.
  • To approach challenges with optimism.
  • Think with a positive outlook.

“I” – INTEGRITY – December

  • A firm adherence to moral and ethical principles.
  • Doing the right thing when nobody is watching.
  • Telling the truth, admitting wrongdoing.
  • Being honest, trustworthy and incorruptible.

“D” – DISCIPLINE – January

  • Acts in accordance with rules.
  • Controlling your emotions, words, actions, impulses, and desires.
  • Use your head; think before you act; imagine the consequences.
  • Doing the right thing in face of difficulty and following your conscience instead of the crowd.

“E” – EFFORT – February

  • Always strives for their very best
  • Goes above and beyond what is expected.

“R” – RESPONSIBILITY – March

  • Be reliable and dependable; when you agree to do something, do it.
  • Take care of your own business. Don’t make others do what you are supposed to do.
  • Take responsibility for your actions; don’t make excuses or blame others.

“S” – SUCCESS – April

  • Demonstrate all the qualities of the R.A.I.D.E.R.S. program.
