Open Park Night will be TODAY 6-8 pm Hoffer Park.  The rain has stopped and it’s forecasted to not rain this evening, so we are going to have park night today since rain is forecasted again tomorrow.  If we need to cancel between now and 6:00 pm we will post on our Olmsted Recreation Facebook page or our link at raiderweb.org

Summer Playground

Olmsted Recreation is pleased to announce our full day Summer Playground program.  The 2012 full day Summer Playground season will begin on Monday June 11th .   The program will be open Monday– Friday from 8:00 am– 4:00 pm.  The program is open to Middletown Area School District students who have completed kindergarten through the fifth grade.  This years’ program will be held in the Reid Elementary School except the last week.  From August 6th-10th the program will be held at Hoffer Park in the Borough of Middletown.

FEES

$450.00 PER CHILD

Family Discount– Families enrolling two or more children will receive a

discounted rate.

$425.00 per sibling after first sibling has paid full price. 

 

$100.00 per child non-refundable deposit required at time of registration.

 

Early payment discount: pay in full by June 1st  and receive  $25 off first child’s fee. 

  Check or cash only. 

Payment must be paid in full by July 1, 2012.   Payments can be made at the Recreation Office, Summer Playground sign-in area during normal business hours, or by mail.  Balances not paid in full by July 1, 2012 will be subject to a late fee of $5 per day.  Once payment is late six days, the child will not be accepted back into the program until required payment, including late fee, is paid in full. 

 A $25 fee will be charged on all returned checks.

Late pick up fee:  A late fee of $1 per minute will be imposed anytime a child is in our care outside of the normal operating hours.  Normal operating hours are 8 am-4 pm.   Continual late pick-ups may result in the withdraw of your child from our program.  Nominal additional fees may be charged on specialty days.  A calendar with program descriptions and additional fees will be distributed at the beginning of the playground season

Summer 2012 Employment

Olmsted Recreation is taking applications for the summer of 2012.  Available positions: concession, front gate, lifeguards and managers at the Middletown Community Pool, as well as Summer Playground staff.  Applications can be obtained from the Recreation Office at the lower level of the Main St Gym.  Applicants must be 15 years of age or older.

  • Each week, during the second hour, youth and parents have fun together as they play games, and do family projects. 
  • Youth sessions include discussions, group skills practice, and games.
  • Parent sessions include video presentations, group discussions, and skill building activities.
  • Interactive DVDs are used portraying typical youth and parent situations.
