SENIOR INTERNSHIP PROGRAM
The senior internship program is designed to provide qualified seniors an opportunity to explore the various careers within their chosen pathway. Students will attend school for four or more periods and spend the remainder of their day at their mentoring site. Students will obtain mentor site placements that will enable them to acquire meaningful career related experiences in an atmosphere conducive to learning.
Internships are real-world experiences that may be paid or unpaid. They are tailored to meet the needs of the students and mentor site placements. The specific hours and time of year in which the internship is carried out will vary depending on the student’s schedule. Internships can run either one or two semesters.
Any senior who enters 12th grade and is a candidate for graduation is eligible to apply for the senior internship program. The application process begins in the spring of the student’s 11th grade year. Students who are accepted into the program will arrange their internship schedule and internship contract with the Career Coordinator. Parental consent is required.
