Kunkel and Fink Students Participate in
“Working Out to Help Out”
During the month of December, students from Kunkel and Fink Elementary Schools participated in their first ever “Working Out to Help Out” food drive and physical fitness activity during physical education classes. Students from each building were asked to bring in canned food items to help others in need. The canned items were used during physical education classes prior to the holiday break, allowing students to participate in various strengthening activities and even some nutritional lessons.
Kunkel and Fink collected 636 pounds of food. It is estimated that the average meal is about 1.3 pounds. This means Kunkel and Fink students were able to help local families with the donation of over 489 meals to the Central Pennsylvania Food Bank!
