Food Service Payment & Procedures

Dear Parent/Guardian of a Middletown Area School District Student,

Please take note of the following items related to cafeteria operations for the 2017-2018 school year. Some of this information is NEW, so please review it carefully.

School Café Online Payment Site Setup: Setting up an online School Café payment account takes just a few short steps. Log in to and select the blue “Register” option in the center of the screen to set up a new account. On the next screen, select the option to say that you are a parent and continue. On the next screen, it will ask you to select your school district. If you start typing “Middletown” you will be able to select the option for PA-Middletown Area School District and then you can continue. On the remaining screens, you will be prompted for the information that is needed. Please note that you will need your student’s 8 digit school ID. If you do not know your student’s ID, you may contact Tony Colemire or Amy Dintiman using the contact information below.

First Week Free Lunches for Kindergarten Students: MASD provides free lunches for kindergarten students during the first week of school so that they don’t need to worry about making payments while they get used to eating in a school cafeteria.

Charge Limitations: A la carte items can NEVER be charged.

Negative Balances: Student accounts will have a negative balance if a charge was made and then not repaid. The District will carry over any negative balances from the prior school year to collect the debt. Any payments made to the account will first go to the previous year’s debt. Additional communication will occur regarding unpaid balances.

Free and Reduced Meals: The District participates in the School Breakfast and School Lunch Programs. Families meeting income guidelines will qualify for free or reduced meals. Online applications are available at Eligibility for free or reduced meals during the 2017-2018 school year continues for a limited grace period during the 2017-2018 school year. All families must reapply IF you have NOT already received an eligibility notification for the 2017-2018 school year.

Have a great school year!
