Reid Students Raise $718 to Help Children and Families Fight Cancer

The first Four Diamonds Mini Dance Marathon in the district was held Wednesday, November 23 at Reid Elementary School. Students learned that the Four Diamonds name comes from a story written by Christopher Millard when he was battling cancer at Hershey Medical Center. The diamonds represent Courage, Wisdom, Honesty and Strength. Other activities during the day included Zumba, volleyball and a craft project. This special day culminated with an assembly where the students performed the line dance they had learned. The line dance is a special part of the 46 hour long Thon every year at Penn State. Reid students raised $718 to help children and families battling cancer at Hershey Medical Center. The success of this event shows the generous and kind spirit of our students and their families.
