Congratulations to the following seniors who were selected by their teachers as the Students of the Month.




Hayli Akakpo-Martin is the daughter of Atah & Suson Akakpo-Martin. Throughout high school Hayli has been involved in many clubs and held many titles. She was a class officer all four years; two of which she was the Vice President, and the other two years she was President. She is also the Treasurer of Student Council. Hayli is a member of Mini-THON, Key Club, and Link Crew as well. Hayli has been a dedicated athlete throughout her high school career. She participates in soccer, basketball, softball, and track & field. She has been awarded first team Mid-Penn All-Star in soccer for two years in a row and was named one of Mid-Penn Conferences Top 10 Girls’ Soccer Players to Watch in 2018. Hayli also earned an honorable mention for softball in 2018. Outside of school, Hayli volunteers with her father’s law enforcement motorcycle club with projects ranging from sending care packages to homeless people and raising money for veterans first responders, active duty soldiers, and sick children. She has also volunteered with Olmsted Soccer Association. Hayli is employed as a part time sales associate at Champs Sports. Hayli plans on attending Wilkes University after graduation to major in Sports Management with a minor in Marketing. Additionally, she will be continuing her athletic career at Wilkes playing on their soccer team.



William is the son of William Stone Sr. & Jennifer Schue. During high school William has had a major focus on music, as he is a member of Concert and Jazz band, the Drum Major of the Marching band, and Vice President of Tri-M Honors Society. In addition, William was a member of District 7 Band, Region V Band, and earned the John Philip Sousa Award. William is also involved with Future Business Leaders of America and is the Secretary of the club. Additionally, he participated in the Epidemiology Challenge at the Capital Area Engineering Fair; he was awarded first place in Science/Medicine and received the Dr. George Hayward Love Sr. Judges Award for exceptional display and interview. Outside of school William works at Sharp Shopper in the produce department. After he graduation, William plans to continue his education at Millersville University to major in Music Education.

19.4 STRIP



Sophia York is the daughter of Thomas York. Sophia is a Mini-THON Chair and the Key Club Webmaster. She also participated in the EPI Challenge and is a Science and Health Pathway Leader and Representative for her involvement and passion for health. Sophia is both AED/CPR certified and First Aid certified, and has been a Student Athletic Trainer for over two years. Sophia volunteers with Junior Achievement and Special Olympics. She’s employed as a cashier at Giant Food Stores and plans on becoming a Pharmacy Technician this summer. After high school, Sophia plans on attending Wilkes University to study nursing with the goal of becoming a Nurse Anesthetist.



Mason Garza is the son of James and Robyn Garza. Mason has been on the honor roll throughout high school and is also the treasurer of the National Honor Society and is a member of the National Business Honor Society. Mason holds the title of FBLA President, and earned first place at the 2019 Region 15 FBLA Parliamentary Procedure. Mason is a member of Student Council and participated in Mini-THON’s Mr. Middletown Man Pageant. Mason played on both the varsity soccer and football teams. Mason worked at the Middletown Swim Club Concessions for three years and is now a cashier at Giant Food Stores. Mason will be attending Lebanon Valley College with an e-Sports scholarship where he will pursue a degree in Analytical Finance.

Jocilyn is the daughter of Antonio Koser and LaSonda Dixon. Jocilyn is an honor roll student who is active in Link Crew, National Honor Society, and Youth & Government. She is also on the U.S. Inspired committee. Jocilyn is a three-sport athlete who plays soccer, basketball, and runs for track and field. In track, she qualified for Districts both her sophomore and junior year, where she collectively earned 8thin the 200-meter dash, 8thin the 300-meter hurdles, and 7thin the 200-meter dash. Jocilyn has actively served with Olmsted Recreational Center in various capacities, previously worked at Giant, and is currently employed at Starbucks as a barista. After high school, Jocilyn plans on attending Temple University to study Pre Law/Political Science in hopes of becoming a lawyer.



Clayton is the son of Dave Wagner and Susan Wagner. Clayton has been on the honor roll throughout his high school career. Clayton is involved with many clubs such as National Honor Society and Future Business Leaders of America. Clayton has participated in jazz band, concert band, soccer and baseball throughout his high school career. Clayton has been actively involved in Cub Scouts and Boy Scouts where he earned his Eagle Scout rank and is a member of the Order of the Arrow. Clayton is involved with 4-H where he finances and raises beef animals for showing and market. He has won the Champion Showman and Champion Steer at multiple 4-H events, and has attended several agricultural events at camps, conferences and at Penn State University. Clayton previously worked for Ebersole Excavating and is now employed at Masonic Village Farm in Elizabethtown through the MAHS internship program. After graduation, Clayton plans to study agribusiness at Penn State University for four years to eventually become a farm manager and start his own cattle farm.

19.2 STRIP



Kaitlyn is the daughter of Steve and Dona Lee Knaub. Throughout high school, Katie has earned honor roll and distinguished honor roll. She is also the Vice President of National Honor Society, Co-President of Family, Career and Community Leaders of America, and serves as a Mini-THON Chair. Katie is on the Link Crew and is a member of the concert band, county band, and chorus. Katie is a student leader at her church as well as a camp counselor.Katie played volleyball for four years and was selected as a Mid Penn All Star, First Team. She earned first place at the Capital Area Science and Engineering Fair in Science/Medicine and was the recipient of the Dr. George Hayward Love Sr. Judges Award for exceptional display and interview. After high school, Katie plans on attending a four year college where she will study biology.



Benjamin Knisely is the son of Ed and Shirley Knisely. Ben has earned both honor roll and distinguished honor roll throughout his high school career. Ben also holds many officer positions in clubs, such as President of National Honor Society, Treasurer of Future Business Leaders Of America, and Mini-THON Chair. He is also a member of Student Council and Link Crew. Ben was a member of the soccer team and was a varsity captain. Additionally, Ben completed the Eagle Scout Project at the Hershey Free Church through Boy Scout Troop #594. Ben plans to attend Rochester Institute of Technology for Mechanical Engineering.

Adriene is the daughter of Daniel Funck and Johanna Markham. Adriene has been on the honor roll and distinguished honor roll throughout high school. Along with academics, she is also heavily involved in various clubs such as Link Crew and Key Club. Additionally, Adriene is the President of P.R.I.D.E. Club, the Secretary of the National Honor Society, and a Mini THON Chair. Adriene also played volleyball and is a member of the Ski Club. Adriene placed first in Medicine/Science in the Epidemiology Challenge at the Capital Area Science and Engineering Fair. She also received the Dr. George Hayward Love Sr. Judges Award for exceptional display and interview. Adriene was selected to attend the Rotary Youth Leadership Awards camp, she volunteers with RaiderPacks and is an ESL Tutor. Adriene is also a Communications Intern with the school district. Adriene’s goals for after graduation are to attend college to study science and join the Army ROTC to continue making a difference in the world.



Scott is the son of Jeff and Kendra Ash. Scott has been on the honor roll throughout his high school career. Scott’s main focuses during high school have been playing football and baseball. He was quarterback for the football team and was a member of the State Runner-Up and District Championship team three years in a row. Scott is also a member of TV Production. After graduating from high school, Scott will attend Hood College to study history where he plans to obtain his teaching certification at the secondary level. Scott also has been given the honor to be on Hood’s baseball team while he completes his degree.

Alexis is the daughter of Brad Harmon and Lisa Wolf. She is a member of many clubs in the high school: National Honor Society, Link Crew, Mini THON, PRIDE Club, FCCLA, Key Club, and Prom Committee. Alexis also has an internship in the main office of the high school. Alexis was a varsity player for volleyball and was named a Mid Penn Conference Volleyball All Star and a member of the Mid Penn Conference Second Team. Alexis currently works at Doc’s Roller Skating Rink, and she plans on attaining her Bachelor’s Degree in Teaching/Education. Her goal is to be a future MAHS teacher after college.



Timothy is the son of Martyn R. and Julia L. Nevil. Tim is a Mini THON Chair, and is also a member of PRIDE Club and Link Crew. Tim is also the Sound Technician for the school’s musicals, a reporter on the Raider Newscast “Tim & Tim”, and the WMSS Station Manager and Sports Director. Additionally, he has an internship for Penn State Health, Department of Public Health Services. Tim is a member of the marching, concert, and jazz bands and is the president of the Blue Wave Marching Band. He is also the president of Tri-M Honor Society, and was the recipient of a Tournament of Bands Scholarship. He is employed at Klock Entertainment and The Hershey Story. After high school he plans on majoring in Infectious Disease and Immunology in college.
