When I Grow Up

Fink Career BANN2

On Friday, May 10, 2019, Fink Elementary held its Career Day with the assistance of students from Dauphin County Technical School. Students rotated between various learning stations and heard from DCTS students about the training they are receiving in their field of interests. Tyler Harker explained what he is learning in veterinary medicine. His mannequin dog was a huge hit with most students while others thought the dog was a bit creepy. Tyler demonstrated how to give CPR to dogs and allowed students to try it, too! Leonard Wesley displayed tools that assist him in his carpentry training and shared the kinds of projects he has been able to build. Rylee Honney and Caleb Wenger shared their artwork and graphic designs which intrigued the young creative minds at Fink. And lastly, one of the highlights of the day was watching Zach Alleman lock Elise Homrighausen in handcuffs as they talked about Criminal Justice.

Students and teachers had the opportunity to dress up in their career of choice. Athletes, doctors, chefs, cowgirls, construction workers, teachers, hair stylists, scientists and firemen traveled the halls of Fink as they explored career options. Apparently, Mr. Davis hasn’t grown up yet and is still exploring, too!
