The Pennsylvania Department of Education (PDE) is responsible for ensuring that all special education programs in schools are appropriate and effective.  To do this, school districts must submit a Special Education Plan every three years to PDE as required under 22 PA Code 14.104.  As a Phase 1 school district, MASD’s full Special Education Plan is due for submission by May 1, 2019.  The revised MASD Special Education Plan must be posted for public review 28 days prior to final board approval.

The revised plan takes effect on July 1, 2019 through June 30, 2022. The plan is available for public inspection via hard copy at the MASD Administration Building and electronic copy on the District website. The Board will vote to approve the final plan at its April 16, 2019 General Business Meeting.
