FCCLA Assists 3rd Graders at Science Factory

FCCLA Science Trip BANN

On May 1, 2018, members of Middletown Area High School’s Family, Career and Community Leaders of America (FCCLA) sponsored a trip to the Lancaster Science Factory for a group of Reid Elementary students. Seniors Bre Ebersole and Shelby Luther were the FCCLA committee chairs who organized the trip and helped the club raise money to fund the trip. Twenty-four students from Reid Elementary were each assigned to a high school buddy. The high school students exemplified the MAHS service attitude as they interacted with their 3rd grade buddies. Students young and old enjoyed the numerous interactive exhibits at the Science Factory which gave them opportunities to experiment with light, sound, electricity, motion, acoustics, mechanics and so much more. After lunch at the 454 Grill, the students played kickball and climbed on the playground equipment at Long’s Park. FCCLA wishes to thank all of the MASD community for helping them raise money throughout the year for this wonderful service project and educational experience.
