Alcohol Poster Contest Winner

MAHS teacher, Mr. Dan Riggs, assigned his Health and Human Sexuality classes the task of creating a poster for the annual Alcohol Awareness Poster Contest hosted by the PA Liquor Control Board. The students were challenged to design a poster using their own words and images that promoted safe and healthy alternatives to underage drinking. A group of MAHS teachers and administrators served as judges and selected a few posters to be submitted to the contest.

The Bureau of Alcohol Education received over 800 submissions from area students. Only forty-six of the posters were selected to be featured at the State Museum of Pennsylvania in Harrisburg. Mahnoor Azim’s poster, “Strike Out Alcohol” was selected as one of the winning posters. The student artists were honored at a ceremony on April 4, 2018. All winning posters were on display at the museum April 9th-13th.
