Community Event – Black History Month Tribute

Several Commonwealth of PA agencies have teamed together to co-sponsor an annual Black History Month Tribute. This year’s theme will be African Americans in Times of War with Unity as the overarching focus. The Tribute includes two events that are summarized below. Both events are free and open to the public.

Tuesday, February 27, 2018  (snow date, March 6, 2018)
Reception – Keystone Building Atrium – 4:30 -7:30 pm
Meet Chairman Gladys Brown, Pennsylvania’s Cabinet Secretaries, and Legislators. Smooth jazz and hors d’oeuvres will compliment brief presentations from Chairman Brown and several Cabinet Secretaries, Agency Heads, and others. This event is free and open to the public (state workers, community, organizations, and groups); spread the word throughout your community of interest.

Wednesday, February 28, 2018 ( snow date, March 7, 2018 )
Main Program – Forum Auditorium – Pre-Program at 11:30 am; Program at 12:00 noon
Keynote Speakers:  Colonel Cedric Carrington (U.S. Army War College, Carlisle, Pa) and Lieutenant Colonel Davina Carrington
This event is free and open to the public. School participation is highly encouraged for this educational and entertaining curriculum support event. Refreshments (for adults) will be served in the Keystone Building following the program.
