Teamwork, independence, and a little bit of creativity is the recipe for MAHS’s TV Production class. This is where, in just 45 minutes, students prepare the High School’s daily news and announcements.
TV production provides students a chance to participate in a real-life news broadcasting experience. Students work together to develop and deliver all of the content that makes up MAHSTV. This process includes collecting and editing content, producing the video segments, and editing the final daily episode that will be aired the following morning.
Beyond the daily task of producing MAHSTV news segments, students are also given the opportunity to explore a variety of careers in the world of broadcasting. Students, through their research and hands-on learning, find out quickly that there is a diverse group of people with different skills and expertise needed to produce the television shows and movies we watch each day.
Students wishing to participate in TV Production must first successfully complete Multimedia Design I; a course that teaches the basics about producing various forms of multimedia projects. TV Production correlates with the Business Finance & Industrial Technology (BFIT), Arts and Communication (AC), and Human Services (HS) pathways.
