The federal No Child Left Behind Act of 2001 requires school districts to publish an annual report card to communicate with parents about student achievement levels, attendance rates and the number of highly qualified teachers in their school building.
No Child Left Behind (NCLB) also measures something known as Adequate Yearly Progress (AYP) in which schools are judged by the number of students meeting a state-mandated standard with the ultimate goal of 100 percent of students reaching either proficient or advanced performance levels by 2014. The report cards have been compiled for theĀ 2010-11school year.
