What is the Raider PRIDE Program?

Character education is a growing need in schools today.  At Middletown Area High School, our character education program is known as P.R.I.D.E.  The P.R.I.D.E. program seeks to develop those positive attributes that will help students build a strong, positive character.

What does the acronym mean?

P.R.I.D.E. stands for five core values that we believe help students to succeed in school and beyond.  They also help to foster a safe and supportive school environment.  The behaviors are Perseverance, Respect, Integrity, Discipline and Excellence.

How does Raider PRIDE fit into the curriculum?

Raider PRIDE is taught throughout the curriculum.  Faculty members use a variety of teaching strategies to help students understand, appreciate, and demonstrate the five core values.

In what other ways is the program promoted?

A committee of faculty, administrators, and students meet regularly to plan additional Raider PRIDE events and programs.  Some of these activities include:

è    PIRDE surprise

è    PRIDE pencils/pens

è    Community Service Projects

è    Celebrations
